About Me -- New

    My name is New.   I have been living with Ms. Haines who is my host mother since I first came here in February 2025.  Since I have been living here for about 4 months, I have enjoyed living in Dunedin because I like that this town is peaceful and quiet.  In addition, there are a lot of mountains, trees and flowers which makes me feel relaxed and more comfortable.  Moreover, many local people here are very friendly to international students and I had a chance to talk to new people which was a very exciting experience for me.  My favorite subject in both high school and at university was English because I found that I enjoy listening when people are talking in English.  Moreover, English is fascinating for me even though I admitted that it is challenging to study the language.  In terms of the reasons of studying in this course, I want to both improve my English skills and build up my confidence as well.  In my free time, I love watching movies and recently I have my new work out activity which is I enjoy going for a walk with my host mother and her dog as it is relaxing and I can see the beautiful nature along the way.  However, I don’t prefer to go in a place where there are too crowded because I would feel uncomfortable.  In terms of my bad points, I am too much worried about everything and I have very less confidence that I’m now trying to improve these things.  For my good points, I think I am sincere, responsible and friendly.  In terms of my goals, I want to become a better person of me.   Moreover, I would like to be more optimistic, become a confident person and be able to get a job that I could handle it well and I am happy to do it.

      Hahaha. Yes, I enjoy listening English. By the way, Hanako recommended me to watch the “Stranger Things” series on Netflix recently and I enjoy watching it a lot. So, I also recommend you to try and watch the series in your free time.😊

My name is David Woodfield, and I live in Māori Hill in Dunedin with my wife, Patricia, our toy poodle, Neo, and our Birman, QT. I like Dunedin for its vistas, historical buildings & vibrant cultural life. My favourite subject at high school and university was the history of art. I like relaxing with a good book and a coffee in a sunny spot. The kinds of books I enjoy include biographies, explorations of Christian history and ideas, and interior design tomes.  Hi, I’m Miyu TOKUMOTO from Japan. I’m 21 years old and I was born in Nara. I’m specializing in language course at university.
