Boyan Slat& The Ocean Cleanup -- Aoi

Boyan Slat is a Dutch inventor who founded The Ocean Cleanup. He started the project as a teenager, which already shows his unusual confidence and vision. His idea is not only about cleaning plastic but also about showing the world that young people can create real solutions for global problems.

I believe that his strongest personal characteristic is resilience. When his first design failed, many people might have stopped. However, Slat learned from this and improved his system. This ability to accept mistakes and keep moving forward is more important than the technology itself.

In the long run, I think The Ocean Cleanup will be partly successful. It may not remove all plastic, but it can inspire governments and industries to take stronger action. Even if the machines cannot clean everything, the project already has success because it changes the way people think about ocean pollution.

  3. Indeed Slat has displayed resilience. When his initial design of mantra-ray shaped fixed platforms with nets attached didn't work, he --- along with his co-workers -- was able to go back to the drawing board and create a different system. Kudos to Slat! David :-)

  4. Thank you for sharing. I agree with you. The failure is just part of the journey. If we keep going, success will come one day.

  5. I believe that if every part of the government truly cooperates, we might really be able to tackle this issue.

  6. Of course, long-term prevention is a stable issue, requiring the cooperation of everyone and all parties.
