Boyan Slat & the Ocean Cleanup -- Ying

Boyan Slat is a young innovator. He started The Ocean Cleanup when he was still a teenager. His dream is to remove plastic from the oceans. I admire his courage and vision. He saw a big problem and wanted to solve it while others don't mention about it.

Slat is creative and determined. He try to create something with his teamwork to clean up the ocean. These qualities helped him turn an idea into a real project. He also shows patience when things do not work at first. The first design of his autonomous plastic trash collecting system failed. But he did not give up. He tested again and improved his ideas. I think this shows his endurance.

In the long run, I believe The Ocean Cleanup can be succeed. The project may not remove all the plastic, but it can reduce pollution and raise global awareness. Success is not only about cleaning, it is also about inspiring people to protect the oceans.

  3. It is interesting isn't it, that just by getting on & doing what he is doing, Slat will be inspiring people who hear and read about his work to litter less. Journalists who share his story are the 'middle men' here. They are enabling Slat's vision to spread & his work to be magnified. David :-)
