Pandemics of the Past -- A Reflection -- Ying
One thing that surprised me the most about the bubonic plague, cholera, and the Spanish flu is how quickly these diseases spread across populations even without modern transportation. The most terrifying factor, in my opinion, would have been the lack of medical knowledge and effective treatment at the time, which made people feel helpless.
The lesson we can learn is the importance of early detection, strong public health systems, and global cooperation to control pandemics. From the Covid-19 pandemic, I think one positive change was the rapid development of vaccines through international collaboration. Moreover, during that time, digital technology became more important, and communication improved greatly, such as through working from home and online learning. This brought a major change in the way people live, which will continue to benefit society in the future.

I agree with you!Global cooperation is significant
ReplyDeleteI agree with your point. It teaches us how to protect ourselves and learn to live safely. In particular, you will learn how to protect yourself as well. You've learned in a different way, such as teaching students online.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your opinion that is digital technology has become more important. People can rely on digital technology when they are sufferer.
ReplyDeleteI think it’s really scary not to know how to deal with outbreaks, but it’s okay because nowadays we can learn from the past and use that knowledge to protect ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I also think that the common challenging=enemy(At that time, it was Covid-19) makes our connection strongly.
