Taking Responsibility - Ying
When
I reflect on myself, I realize that many of my daily habits are still bad for
the environment. I do not separate my trash that means waste cannot be recycled.
At home, I always drink water from single-use plastic bottles instead of using
a water filter. When I take a shower, I often let the water run for too long.
These habits waste resources and create more plastic waste.
To
change my lifestyle and make it more sustainable, I need to change step by
step. During this trip in New Zealand, I have learned to limit my showers to 10
minutes and save more water. Now, I am changing the way I take a shower. When I
shower, I will try to close the tap whenever I am not using the water. Moreover,
I always use a reuseable bottle instead of single-use plastic bottles for drinking
water. Lastly, I need to start separating my trash at home.
I believe that even small changes in my lifestyle can help reduce harm to the environment and make my daily life more sustainable.

I profoundly impressed that New Zealand people have a high standard of understanding about sustainable lifestyles. I believe that one of the most important things about changing the lifestyle is taking action even if it is small things.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that change should happen step by step to make it sustainable.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised that Kiwis always save water. I could not get used to it when I first arrived here.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear about the steps you are making. Hopefully your host family here 'religiously' place used products in the correct bin, so inspiring you to separate your trash back in your homeland. David :-)
ReplyDeleteI also found that New Zealand does a great job of being more sustainable in terms of energy usage and waste management. This trip also helped me become more conscious of my daily routines.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your solution idea. I think you can save your world and environment in the future.
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, I use a lot of water too when I take a shower.. I'll fix it from now on!
